The issue only occurs when the printer shuts off and we have to shut it off to conserve battery because we take them out for field work. Should it not that this printer establish connection with the surface pro automatically once its powered on, and I know I had the Wi-Fi direct set to establish connection automatically and yet the Surface pro shows that the printer is offline. The only way to connect it is to do the whole process of reconnecting to the Wi-Fi direct e.g typing in the code and wait to see of the device is connected. In the Device and Printers the OfficeJet 200 is still there but greyed out and has a status of being offline even though the printer has been on for a while. The issue is that everytime we turn off the printer or goes to sleep the Surface pro cannot re esatablish connection with the printer after turning it back on.
